There is way too much for me to read here. I got about half way, maybe. I got down to Where Will talks about xplorer, and the guy that talks about Super Mario Bros. Now, I can understand the whole, Guitar Hero has introduced people to music they may have never known, but, in my eye, that is where the only good thing from this bullshit soundtrack with a controller. I’ve always hated Dance Dance Revolution, and I really see not much of a difference here, I really don’t. So, when Guitar Hero came out, I thought, you gotta be kidding me. Sometimes my fucked up head makes me think when things like this happen, that there is no god. No one in there right mind would do this, and do you really think someone like Kurt Cobain wanted to see one of his songs in a game? It’s even in one of the damned comercials. Now, I’m not saying that Nirvana is the best band around, they’re not. I’m a fan, and Kurt knew how to write some damned good lyrics in my mind. But, I don’t know, it just seems like anyone who knows that music is sacred, are dying off every minute of everyday. I hate how, if something does remotely good, that ceo’s must make it into any kind of object to sell. Like movies becoming video games,and visa versa, even though there have been some good to come from it, though that hardly justifies it. It just shouldn’t happen. And if guitar Hero IS making kids pick up a guitar, I really hope it’s for the right reasons, though I’m sure it hasn’t. Look at the episode of South Park, where they make fun of Guitar Hero. I’ve lost my love for south park, but that is at least in my top 20 favorite TV moments. Guitar Hero feels like just another step toward music going back to the 40’s and 50’s. I’m not sorry when I say that if anyone thinks that Guitar Hero, or Rock Band is amazing, you need to start reading books again, if you ever did read in the first place. Quit being brain washed, and start looking for less entertainment for the sake of distraction, and look for things in the “entertainment” world, that has more integrity. Do it for the right reasons. It’s things like this happening that makes me wish I could make 99% of the human race unable to breed, I understand that’s not a decision for me to make, but that doesn’t stop thoughts like that. If it was my way, if it would never catch up to me, I’d steal every copy of guitar Hero and Rock Band, and all it’s sequels, and burn them, but only into plastic piles, and the copies I stole from people, I’d gift wrap them, and give it back to these people. I do understand how harsh this sounds, and I do try to be a good person in life, but that doesn’t stop how angry I get, even over something as ignorant as Guitar Hero. Example I would never ever hurt children, no matter what, but there have been times where I’ve felt anger and have said that i would hurt small children, and I gotta be pretty damned angry to say that, trust me on that one. Guitar Hero brings a passionate hatred out of me. I mean sometimes it really just makes me want to break off every person’s fingers who plays the damned thing. I’m not the kind of person to walk in front of someone in a wheelchair and start dancing, but this is how I feel. I really do think that Music games like these are the worst things to happen to video games and music. Granted, I love racing games, Gran Gran Turismo is one of my favorite games, I do not, how ever have the money to buy a race car, and race, but I do own a guitar. I’m not the best guitar player in the world, I’m probably a better plastic guitar player, than I am a guitar player, but that doesn’t make me stop playing anymore than I would quit anything else in my life. What I would really love to do is own all the patents to any and all things related to band style games, buy up the companies that own guitar hero and rock band, which I’m sure I wouldn’t have to go much farther that MTV, and stop production on the whole damned thing, also, I would wish every second, that all guitar Hero’s and Rock Bands would break, and when any one would call for a replacement or repair, I would charge them the amount of all thw accumulated wealth of the world. I am damned serious, and I don’t give a good god Damn if you think I’m a hater, I wish that these two games being the worst thing ever invented was a science fact. I’d have more to say, but I’d repeat myself, or make some of you hunt me down. Seriously, FUCK GUITAR HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That doesn’t sound like it’s the most open-minded thing on the internet, there, chief. Tone down the hate speak next time, please, at least on my posts.

I’d just like to say that Dave Grohl is modern fucking rock – whether or not Kurt killed himself, he was destined for greatness.

I guess it’s all about what you prefer. Personally, I like good music, so I listen to that. There’s no formula for it – Simon and Garfunkel is good, even though they use a formula very different from the one, say, Lamb of God uses, which is different from what John Coltrane does. Still awesome, though.

Kurt cobain proved that you didn’t need to be a competent musician to become famous. He lowered the bar.. alot.

Also, kurt shooting himself in the head was the best career decision he could have made for dave. Dave is ten times the front man kurt ever was.

The real issue with all this type of shit is that everyone has their own opinion and seems some what fucking hell bent on trying to force everyone else to see things the same way

The fact is that there is enough music out there for everyone to listen to.

There is technical music, simple music, whatever you want to listen to it exists. Although the internet has made more music available to people, made learning the guitar easier etc etc

It’s certainly not the best thing to happen to the music industry, but it’s definitely not one of the worst, either. Sure, kids might not want to take the time to learn an instrument, but at least they’re being exposed to rock music.

As a guitarist myself, I couldn’t agree more. I think that the whole guitar hero craze is kind of ridiculous. The game store worker’s comment is in my opinion, ignorant.
