Clowns against Dent? I mean, really?

Clowns Against Dent. Notice they confused Harvey Dent’s campaign slogan with Barack Obama’s.

It appears some really, really foolish individuals who love The Dark Knight Viral Campaign and have too much time on their hands have gotten a hold of a camera and garageband and tried to make a name of themselves as of late.

Clowns Against Dent emerged recently on the Maiden Avenue Report page, with links to three of their videos in which they were attempting, very poorly, to smear/threaten Harvey Dent, while implying they were escaped Arkham inmates. The videos were poorly done, but not poorly done in a 42 entertainment sort of way - they were just plain bad.

The thing that threw me off initially was the fact that the links appeared on the Maiden Avenue Report, an official 42 site. I watched them, and didn’t know what to think.

Since then, two new videos have come from Clowns against Dent, the first one being the three idiots standing around talking about the District Attourney race like they know what the fuck is going on, talking about how much people love Dent when his campaign was circling the drain. That was indication number one that these losers are exactly what they say - clowns.

Indication number two came at the end of that same video, when one of them turned to the camera and said they were “real.” It absolutely reeked of fake.

Thirdly, and most hilariously, after that video went up, the Maiden Avenue Report took down the link to their videos, assumingly because they said they were “real” and they’re actually just a bunch of tools who just figured out windows movie maker.

I would put a link up here, but I refuse to support these individuals. If you haven’t already seen their stuff, and for some reason you actually want to, I guess you can go look for it. I wouldn’t, though. It’s pretty much the dumbest fucking thing to come out of this godawful campaign.

Note: I’m not even going to comment on the Dent hostage scandal. Suffice it to say, this whole thing is going to Hell in a handbasket.

WOW, Seriously? The pot calling the kettle black. Who the eff are you? OHH RIGHT!!!! A NOBODY!
You are a nobody who apparently LOVES wasting bandwidth Bitching about some actually creative Viral Videos you found on Youtube. Why the hell is this such a big f’ing Deal for you? I think you are just a jealous Ass who can’t do any better yourself and for sake of an article decided to try and trash talk some creative guys who,in my honest opinion, completely blow away 88% of the bull$hit garbage on Youtube. Seriously, of the Billions of Videos(Batman,TDK or not..)you choose to call “poorly done” or “just plain bad” you choose these 4 videos? WOW…Im simply stunned why this bugs you soo much, and why you are so damn negative. Go bug Chris Crocker, or numa numa kid, leave these guys to do there thing, they are really not hurting anyone, they are enjoying themselves, and are 350% more creative than the article you wrote Regarding them! The fact that you needed to speaks Volumes.

At the end of the day, they will be the ones who actually DID Something, Catching peoples attention, entertaining people and doing a fine job at it, You however will Just be the angry Jealous guy who has Nothing better to do than just complain about on the Internet.

Boy ohh boy,I sure can’t wait for your next article………………

Whoa, Evil Ash. What do you do when you find out Ebert and Roeper gave a movie you like a bad review? Slit your wrists? Calm down.

Well, Evil Ash, your response is interesting for a few reasons. Firstly, you’re attacking me for being a “nobody,” which is funny, because you apparently frequent our site.

Secondly, if you seriously think these videos are actually better than 88% of what’s on youtube, then you’re wrong. It’s exactly the same as every other poorly done fan video channel for Batman - and, in case you haven’t been paying attention, I chose those videos because I’m the writer for presstheactionbutton.com providing coverage for the Dark Knight viral campaign. Basically, you just asked Batman why he never fights the Red Skull. This article pertains to the viral campaign, so I wrote it.

Now, I’m sorry you like these videos, but I can’t see why you would. They’re shoddily made, using stolen sound effects from Garage Band with crappy costumes and increasingly poor gimmicks. They are the definition of a bad video, and I’m not going to tell people to go watch a bad video because it’s a waste of their time, and that’s why Press The Action Button exists - To let people know if something’s bad, so that they don’t have to experience it themself.

Come back again, though, and comment whenever you please.

    this guy is funny…

“I would put a link up here, but I refuse to support these individuals.”

yet then writes a cute little blog bitching all about them and posts a picture of some people that look like them, he probably could never come up with anything this simple and yet effective even if he had movie maker (which if he even had a clue about movie making could tell this was in no way done with anything windows based).

i just get tired of people like him spoiling everyones fun…so you don’t like them? great move on and forget about it!

but the fact that you blogged off about this with your persistent name calling with things like “tools” and “idiots” oh and this nobel prize winning blurb “It’s pretty much the dumbest fucking thing to come out of this godawful campaign.”

only leads me to believe you are just jealous that you have been born with no creativity and any sense of dignity to bash people you know nothing about.

i think these are pretty creative and since this guy wont post them i will, here are the links:

    Vault Dweller,

LOL the diference here is Ebert & Roeper give a fair and just review of a movie, noting both positive & negative sides of the film then make a decision based on those conclusions. This D-bag, does nothing but give a one sided angry review of a fan film, not giving creedence to its good aspects, making this an unfair and poor review.

As for you MalcolmChaos, I would really love you to show me an example of what you concider “good fan film” I’ll gaurentee you will not be able to produce anything better than these guys have made(tdk-topic)lets also keep in mind that this IS a friggin “fan film” its not lucasfilm, its not Dreamworks, nor does it ever claim to be.Its some creative guys with a camcorder, costumes and a synthisizer…..Low tech, but they did a hell of a job with what they had. As for your purpous? “To let people know if something’s bad, so that they don’t have to experience it themself.” Are you kidding me? Are we 5 years old? are you gonna come wipe my ass too? Im a grown ass man, and im sorry, but I do not need a Website to tell me what to view and what to pay attention to, Especaily when its a one sided D-bag “reviewing” a quality fan such as this. it makes me very sad that this type of website has an audience “Let P.t.a.b. do the thinking for you” god forbid anyone watch and come to thier own conclusions.

    Sigh…..welcome to 2008 I supose.
    its 2am im tired .

“Let P.t.a.b. do the thinking for you”

    That is an awesome slogan!

Hovey, that is them. You would think if you knew all about these three and their videos, since you obviously have watched them enough times to be able to tell what program they must have used, you would be able to recognize them.

As for Evil Ash, it appears to me the problem you have is not with our blog, but with review sites in general.

a review site is a place where people go to get opinions about a subject. Now, here I took a product - in this case, some fan videos, and I wrote a review of them. It was a poor review, because they’re poor videos for the reasons outlined. That’s what review sites do. Now, never did I say “don’t form your own opinion on Clowns Against Dent.” I gave you mine, because that’s what I’m here for. Then I said if you want to, you can look them up if you haven’t already seen them, I’m just not going to throw up a link. Now, a “grown-ass man” has a lot of things to do with his time, like earn a living, maybe even expand his vocabulary, learn how to spell the word “purpose.” He doesn’t have time to experience everything for himself, so, maybe, just maybe, he looks at a review every now and again before he ends up wasting precious time he could have used to get his stuff out of his mom’s basement. That’s why we exist.

Now, the Ebert and Roeper point you made would be valid if there weren’t two major problems with it. Firstly, I would have weighed the positives of these videos if there were any. You talk a lot about creativity, but I really don’t see it - and even if I did, I’m not sure I would think of it as a good thing. Hitler was creative as hell - the Germans, a master race, giving them the right to take Europe? Really creative. Some of the worst things in history have been creative. Creativity is not necessarily a virtue.

Secondly, all reviewers display a bias, because everyone has an opinion (and that includes your beloved Ebert and Roeper). I get it, you don’t like this particular opinion, but calling me jealous or a nobody proves nothing. Just disagree. Seriously.
