Captain America’s Shield Makes Cameo in Iron Man?
May 12, 2008

Movie news site FirstShowing.net has noticed that in a scene from Iron Man what looks like Captain America’s shield can be seen on Tony Stark’s workbench. Is it just a coincidence that the things on the desk look like Cap’s shield or was it purposely put there to further tie Marvel’s movies together?
The shield can be seen in the scene pictured above. Now it would make sense that since Stark Industries develops a lot of S.H.I.E.L.D’s tech that the shield that is later used by Captain America, part of the Avengers, would have been developed in part by Stark. We already know from the bonus scene at the end of Iron Man that Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. are going to be in control of the Avengers.
Also, during an interview over The Incredible Hulk movie, it was mentioned during the New York Comic Con that the serum that is used to create the Abomination is like the one Captain America gets. So, S.H.I.E.L.D. must get a hold of this serum, modify it, and then use it to create Captain America down the line.
I am very excited to see all the little ways that Marvel is tying together its properties and creating overlap in their stories. Perhaps there are more hints in Iron Man that no one has noticed yet, and undoubtedly there are hints dropped all over The Incredible Hulk. It’s going to be interesting to see how The Incredible Hulk movie ends, because it would be cool to see him in the Captain America or Avengers movie in some capacity, not only the CG Hulk but Ed Norton as Bruce Banner as well.

there is a mistake in the article. it says”during an interview over The Incredible Hulk movie, it was mentioned during the New York Comic Con that the serum that is used to create the Abomination is like the one Captain America gets. So, S.H.I.E.L.D. must get a hold of this serum, modify it, and then use it to create Captain America down the line.
“, but Captain America is from WWII so he is pre-Abomination, plus in one scene of the Incredible Hulk the super soldier syrum is mentioned, thats what gave cap america his powers, plus the syrum was orginally made by u.s. scientists but the plans werte destroyed after cap was created and S.H.I.E.L.D. developed the syrum given to blonsky, so the S.H.I.E.L.D. theory is wrong

Haha, well I did write this article on May 12th before The Incredible Hulk was released. At that point it was uncertain how Marvel would handle Captain American down the road so I was just guessing based on the little I had heard.
