Of course the Fantastic Four Secret Invasion crossover books have to be a seperate mini-series instead of being inside of the regular Fantastic Four series so I had to go to the comic shop to pick this up. It’s interesting how what they are doing in this book, and what they are doing in Fantastic Four #556 are completely different. That’s some continuity they’ve got going.
Spoilers after the break.
As with many Marvel crossovers, this issue offers little new information about the Secret Invasion storyline and leaves you a little disappointed afterwards that nothing really happened.
It starts out with the Invisible Woman being captured by Skrulls at an indefinite time in the past. Present day, a Skrull Invisible Woman gets inside of the Baxter Building and transports it to the Negative Zone. In the N-Zone, Ben is busy protecting the children from strange creatures while Johnny confronts his sister and finds out that she is a Skrull. But the Skrull pretending to be his sister isn’t just any Skrull… it’s Johnny’s ex-wife, Ljya!
Besides not revealing much about the Secret Invasion storyline or being interesting, this book was much too easy to read. I read it in about 5 minutes while I was watching TV at the same time. There was so little dialogue and so little going on that it wasn’t exactly worth a lot of time.
I am excited to see the return of Lyja, however.
