Colbert’s Superpowered Bid for the Presidency Continues in Earth 616?

Turns out Colbert’s run for the presidency isn’t necessarily over yet…

In comic books, that is.

In the Marvel Universe, Colbert’s bid for president appears to be picking up steam since January 29th, when Mr. Colbert was informed by frequent guest and Marvel Editor In Chief Joe Quesada, on his television show “The Colbert Report,” that his bid for the presidency was still alive and well in the comic books.

Marvel’s slipped a few “Easter eggs” into their books as of late – here are a few…

In Amazing Spider-Man #556…

In Secret Invasion #1…

And, for good measure, in X-Men Legacy #211…

So,  even though in reality his bid for president, which was restricted to South Carolina’s primary and then cut short when the Republicans proved too expensive and the Democrats wouldn’t take him, didn’t work out in reality, he’s going strong in the Marvel Universe.
