So I Just Finished Playing Metal Gear Solid 4…

Just a few minutes ago I completed Metal Gear Solid 4. The MGS4 experience greatly exceeded anything I could have imagined. Even as my type this my mind is racing with the epicness of what I have just witnessed.

Naturally going into MGS4 I had some expectations. Being a fan of the series for sometime now I have become accustomed to the elements that make a “Metal Gear” game. Compelling characters, griping story, stunning visuals. They are all well crafted parts that blend together to make a masterful whole. While all Metal Gear games to date easily carry the title of impressive, this latest installation takes the cake. It goes above and beyond. That fact should be no surprise when you consider that Metal Gear games have always pushed the limit of current gaming technology. MGS4 is no exception to that rule. In looking at MGS4 you are looking at the true power of next generation gaming.

Now if you started reading this article for spoilers then I’m sorry to say you won’t find any here. To be completely honest MGS4 packs so much of a punch I don’t even know where I would begin to describe what happens in it. To get it, to really get it, you have to play it for yourself. Or at least watch somebody play it. It must be watched in its entirety, from start to finish, because every knock and cranny of the game is filled with surprises. Truly MGS4 manages to take any lingering questions from the previous installments and give them answers thus providing a welcome sense of closure.

Sure you could easily go online right now and in the coming days, as more and more people put videos and written descriptions of the game plot. But in my opinion utilizing such means would cheat you out of an amazing experience. What I want you, my dear reader, to take away from this post is 5 simple words:

PLAY METAL GEAR SOLID 4!
