Some Quick Thoughts On Batman #679

So today I received Batman #679 in the mail.  The issue is notable for providing some insight on Batman’s strange new personality.

Apparently Batman of Zur-en-arrh is a subconscious back-up identity designed by Batman in the event he suffers a full psychotic breakdown.  Basically it functions as a “Batman without a Bruce” a.k.a. a Batman that can exist without the presence of Bruce Wayne.

That summation in the above paragraph is of course an abridged version and if you wish to better understand it then I suggest you go out and pick up a copy of Batman #679.

While I do admit that the whole Batman Zur-en-aarh concept is quite zany I must say that I find interesting.  If nothing else it surely is creative and has succeeded in hooking me.  At this point it’s impossible for me to abandon the Batman RIP arc because I must know how it ends.
