Spider-Man Back In Parade

Spidey Parade

http://marvel.com/news/comicstories.9210.Spidey_Returns_to_Thanksgiving_Day_Parade

Earlier today Marvel gleefully announced Spider-Man’s return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  After an 11 year hiatus, the Spidey balloon is finally back in the line-up.  I willing admit this news makes me smile.  It will be nice to have Spider-Man flying high again, thought I couldn’t help but notice Marvel.com’s article left out something.  The article discusses the previous use of the Spidey balloon but fails to mention two of Marvel’s most ambitious parade endeavors.

Movie Review – G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-movie-poster

I just got back from a special showing of G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.  I didn’t think I’d be seeing the film in theaters but a free opportunity arose and I took it.  Overall I enjoyed the movie, I enjoyed it quite a bit.  I went into with a fairly pessimistic expectations but what I witnessed shattered those negative feelings.

I Was Too Harsh On Iron Man Armored Adventures

in-the-suit1

Back in April I put up a review of the Iron Man Armed Adventures pilot.  To give the abridged version I was pretty harsh on it.  I found a lot of faults and the bulk of my complaints stemmed from the so called “Teen Tony” approach.  The show is now well along into season one and at this time I feel compelled to comment further.

Some Thoughts On MGS Rising

The prayers of 360 owning Metal Gear fans have been answered…sort of. No they will not get the much rumored (and highly hoped for) MGS4 port but instead what can be considered the next been thing: a brand new adventure.

Iron Man Armored Adventures Pilot Review

in-the-suit1

Back in late 2008 I first heard about the latest Iron Man animated series.  Outside of the name and the network I didn’t learn much else and after a while the show slipped from my thoughts.  Then a couple days ago I stumped upon a free iTunes download of the pilot and figured I’d give a look.

Martin Campbell, A Good Choice For Green Lantern Director

Martin Campbell

While DC comics and Warner Brothers might have about a half dozen superhero films in the works most of them won’t see release until 2011.  This March the much hyped Watchmen finally hits theaters and then DC fans will have to wait until 2010 for the release of Green Lantern’s first cinematic outing.   Now while I am far from a GL expert I know enough about the character and his mythos to realize that a movie adaptation should surely work, assuming of course the script stays faithful to the source material.  My fears of potential mismanagement have been alleviated substancely with the latest bit of big news regarding the movie.  Apparently Martin Campbell is in negotiations to direct.

Shia Labeouf As Robin!?! The Dark Knight Sequel Rumors Have Gone Too Far!!!

I know that as an Internet user I must be prepared to read about ludicrous speculation every time I go online.  But just because I know I must put with crazy rumors certainly doesn’t mean I have to like it.

Even though several months have passed, I still find myself nursing scars from the Dark Knight pre-release speculation; truly it nearly killed me.  Yet somehow I managed to survive the months and months of insane rumors including the “Fake Joker Theory” and the “Zip Line Accident”.

After living through the craziness of the Dark Knight rumor mill I began bracing for the inevitable; I readied myself for the Dark Knight sequel speculation.  I thought I was ready but boy was I wrong.  Despite Dark Knight being released only a little over 5 months ago, the rumors for the sequel have already reached a disheartening degree of madness.

Graysons TV Show Scrapped

dead_graysons

A few weeks ago I first heard about The Graysons, a show that was set to premiere on the CW.  It was to be based around a young Dick Grayson, chronicling his early years much in the same way that the Smallville series covers the early years of Clark Kent.

Upon learning about the show I had missed feelings, leaning largely towards uncertainly as I saw many potential problems for a show about a pre-Robin Dick Grayson.  But any fears I harbored are now moot as this article over at Superhero Hype reveals that the show has been scrapped.

What If Adam West Took The Role Of James Bond?

When you hear the name Adam West chances are the image of Batman immediately comes to mind.  It’s an understandable association when you consider how much Mr. West has done for the Batman franchise.  But what you might not be aware of is that Adam West was offered the chance to play another iconic fictional character.  He could of played the suave, ruthless, British agent with a license to kill.  He could of played the man who will be gracing movie theaters worldwide this November, the man known by millions as Bond, James Bond.
